UCI DH WC #5 - A rough weekend for the Radon Factory DH Team

12.07.2017

Writing an newsletter with good results or other exciting news is one of the easiest things to do, but with sports at the highest level you unfortunately can not always get the results you wished or worked for..... Unfortunately the DH Team could not deliver this weekend, despite of the great support next to the track of the many invited special guests and the Radon Factory XC Team.

Johannes Fischbach
The team was feeling strong on arrival in Lenzerheide. Johannes Fischbach and lines scout Andreas Sieber entering the team pit after wednesdays trackwalk. Johannes Fischbach, here flying during qualification. Germany's fastest back up to speed, after months of injury, with a season best 21st qualifying spot. Luck is not on Fischi's side this season. In his last practice run just before heading up for his race run, Johannes hits a tree and goes over the bars hard, this hard that he is not able to compete in the finals....leaving the Radon team defeated in the pit.

Manon Carpenter
Things are looking bright for Manon during practice. She easily finds her lines and feels comfortable on the Radon Swoop200 650B. Disbelieve in Manon's eye after crossing the finish-line. An 8th position ... not the spot she wants to be in. "My run felt ok, i made some mistakes but it felt faster than my result on the board. Gavin (my mechanic) and me will go home and do some serious testing together to find back the seconds we lost. I will be back strong for MSA."

Faustin Figaret
Faustin started the weekend off with a 9th place in timed qualifying. In contrast to other riders, Faustin wasn't able to improve a lot this time, as other riders did. Leaving Faustin with some work before heading to French national champs and the next world cup in MSA. Some you win some you loose, that's racing. We took a hard hit this weekend but we are not down.

In the upcoming weeks we will work hard to be more than ready for the upcoming World Cups in MSA and Val di Sole. We know we have it us to make it on the podium. We would like to thank our sponsors, the Radon Factory XC Team and especially Ralph Naf for the great support and great care over the weekend. Next events: National Champships Germany, Great Britain and France.
