FAQ
The right torques for bike parts
Add-on parts
Integrated add-on parts such as the handlebar, bottle holder, rear rack etc. should be checked for the right torque regularly. If fastened too tight, the threads or the parts themselves might get damaged. On mostly any part you can find the information about the correct torques written on the part itself.
Bolted connections
Please check bolted connections of the braking calipers, bearings, stem etc. for the right torque regularly. As different parts require different torques, we cannot provide general information about the correct values. You can find the torques printed onto the product itself or in the manufacturer's manual.
Bearing screws
Particularly the right torque of the bearing screws is very important, otherwise the bearings can't work properly. The bearings of the rear swing are moving constantly while driving, so it's necessary to check them regularly. Furthermore they should be secured with middle-strength locking solution or screw retention. Here's some information about the correct torques.
