Radon Magura Factory Blog - Faustin Figaret Pt.1

08.04.2016

First of all I’m so happy to share this season with Radon Magura Factory. The bike is awesome and the atmosphère between team members is really good. Everybody is working very hard to reach our goal, I love it. Since the first minute with this team I’m feeling good and I think it’s really important because we will spend a lot of time together.

The winter training was different this year because I changed trainer. I train now with Tood Schumlick (PerformX). The training was really différent and more specific. I did a lot of gym, road bike, MX, BMX and DH. I can tell you that the job has been done. I like to work with Tood because he is always by my side. It’s the kind of person who always find something positive to say. It’s also very interesting because he doesn’t train me only on the physical aspect, he is helping me on all the points I have to work on.

I did a training camp in New Zealand with him, Harry Heath and Sam Blenkinsop. I learned a lot from those really fast riders, it was awesome to share 2 weeks with them.

To finalize the preparation we did a Team camp in Portugal last month, it was nice to begin to work each other together before the season begins.
I can tell you now that everything is ready to ride as good as we can in Lourdes. For sure I’m more than happy to begin the World Cup season in Lourdes France. It’s always a pleasure to ride at home, in front of fans, friends and family. The track is looking very good, as always they did an awesome job on the track. I think that it’s one of the best tracks in the world. You can find everything on it. There are rock, roots, jumps, good corners .. Because the track arrives near a city, there is a lot of people coming to watch. It’s really good for our sport, it helps to be known.

Last year I did the best result of my career in Lourdes, I end up 9th. It’s probably also a reason who explains why i’m so happy to ride it again this year.
I had a look at the weather, sounds like it’s gone be raining. In the rain, I can tell you that it’s a very hard track. I can’t wait to ride it on the mud to know how good is it. I think we will need to ride with the head to be clear and smooth. The track is pretty short, so it’s important to be good from the top to the finish line.

I’m looking forward to ride this track on Friday.

Fasutin FIGARET.
